All that beautiful milkweed has meant Monarch caterpillars. What a treat! We have kept two in an aquarium to watch shed their skin, form their chrysalis and now to see the first emerge. Despite keeping caterpillars and releasing butterflies for the past 6-7 years, it never gets old or less exciting. The kids followed this on around the yard for quite a while. There are lots of monarch friends for it to join in our field.
