the excitement for snow has been building for awhile. this time last year we were waist high. so far - nothing. tonight we went to bed knowing snow was expected to greet us in the morning, which it did. before i was even up, the four kids were dressed and out the door building a snow man, snowboarding, tobogganing, enjoying every minute. although it didn't last long, they made the most of it.
we also learned how much the chickens enjoy a good carrot nose! and in our house when we talk about carrot noses we can't help but tell this joke:

can you smell carrot?
