We have joined the ranks of the locals and slightly changed our tree tradition. Every year we have gone to a tree farm to cut down our tree. Last year we went to crazy lengths to cut one down, topping it off by loosing it twice off the car! This year was much different. Instead we went around the corner, literally. We walked about 5 mins. from our house to cut down our tree.
We still had to dig down about a foot and a half to find the base of the tree, and free about a quarter of the branches from the snow. Once we had done that, it was smooth sailing. We were able to walk home, singing happily. We are all looking forward to decorating it tonight.
