Clarity

On the last family movie night we watched The Last Trapper, which was about just that; one of the last people to make their living as a trapper in the far north. It was a documentary about the daily ins and outs of this live style, the animal dangers and the strong feeling of stewardship and responsibility the man feels towards the north. The extreme cold and the impact of the weather was really impressed on us, and if it wasn't already clear for some of us that this lifestyle is not something we could or would ever choose, it was after watching.
For others it was a dream to live out in our backyard. Fetching water from the pond, dog sledding across the open frozen water, building huts for survival incase the weather suddenly changed for the worst, practicing the crawl used on thin ice.

Note: because it was not my dream, i took photos through the window-lol!
