That is a frog. The kids found it swimming in the pond. They also found tadpoles. On our hike yesterday we saw a butterfly. Last year at this time we had three feet of snow.
oooh...i can't wait to take my guy to look for frogs. i have talked with him about it and he seems really excited. i think i am going to show him these photos tomorrow! your days look so lovely and congratulations on all those delicious chicken eggs....they do make for a lovely quiche! we eat that a lot around here:) love, pennie
I was out with my dogs for a long hike yesterday and was continually harassed by black flies!!! It is way too early for those! At least snow means no flies!
Frog catching is one of my favorite spring activities! we love to go out at night and listen to the spring peepers. Enjoy Pennie!
Beetles and table habitats again....I forget how much I miss them until spring comes around. For so long they are part of the every day....and then for winter we get the table back lol!
Angie, I really am not ready for black flies, maybe the snow we are supposed to get this weekend will kill off any chance of them sticking around.
When you do things from your soul you feel a river moving in you, a joy.

From catching frogs to star gazing, baking to day tripping, jumping off the dock to story telling, homeschooling to adjusting to bears in the yard, each day is an adventure and an attempt to live soulfully. The real joy for me comes from doing it with my 'crew'; Elias (12yo), Ben (10yo), Aria (8yo), Shai (4yo) and my partner Chris.

We have a beetle in the habitat on the dining room table - the first bug of the season. Man it is early.
